SkyBitz Launches Global Solution to Meet Customer Demands for Managing a Wide Range of Assets
The New GLS 100 Delivers Affordable and Versatile Tracking Technology
STERLING, Va. - June 11, 2008 - SkyBitz, the leading mobile asset tracking and information management service provider, today announced the availability of the GLS 100, an affordable satellite communication mobile communicator that will diversify SkyBitz's technology portfolio and meet growing demand within its expanding international customer base.
The GLS 100 will increase SkyBitz's range of technology offerings to meet current demand, as well as expand its customer base to include a variety fleets in trucking, rail, marine, energy, hazardous materials, construction and heavy equipment. The small size of the GLS 100 mobile communicator makes it possible to track a wider variety of assets and the unit can be mounted both vertically and horizontally. This further enhances SkyBitz's position as the premier source of asset management solutions. Like other SkyBitz products, the GLS 100 is easy to install and provides a host of reporting options with more than five years of battery life.
The satellite communication for the GLS 100 will be provided through Globalstar (NASDAQ:GSAT), a global provider of satellite voice and data services. The location data will be seamlessly integrated into SkyBitz's existing customer web application InSight, an easy-to-use Web interface that puts the power in tracking and monitoring. Globalstar enables SkyBitz to provide global coverage to customers. Axonn LLC, a developer of radio frequency-based hardware, will provide the GLS 100 hardware which now meets SkyBitz' stringent technical specifications and certification processes.
