Axonn Releases the SMARTONE Asset Management Device to Meet Customer Needs for a Low Cost High Value Global Asset Management Solution
Covington, LA – October 2008 - Axonn LLC, the exclusive provider of transmission technology for asset monitoring hardware utilizing the Globalstar Simplex Data Network, today announced the availability of the SMARTONE, Satellite Managed Asset Ready Tracker. Designed for the intelligent management of powered and non-powered fixed and movable assets, SMARTONE is a practical solution to improve an organization’s operating efficiency and security. With a MSRP of $194.00, the SMARTONE is the most cost-effective asset management device in the world today.
The small size (6.5” x 3.25” x 1”) and ”asset ready” design allows it to be easily installed and field managed without the need for harnesses, antennas, or external power. The SMARTONE is powered by 2 or 4 “off-the-shelf” AA lithium batteries providing 3+ years of battery life and removes the need to purchase expensive proprietary batteries for replacement. The SMARTONE utilizes a vibration sensor, comparative GPS positions, change of location technology and sensor input to gather and transmit asset status information.
The SMARTONE is the key to creating a SMARTSYSTEM for managing multiple assets across multiple locations. The SMARTONE integrates into a companies existing back-end system or can be integrated with a customized back-end system to provide key alerts and location information. Each SMARTONE within the SMARTSYSTEM is custom configured to manage asset specific needs and provide intermediate and emergency alerts by email and text/cellular.

The SMARTONE transmits real-time GPS location and other data over the Globalstar constellation of low earth-orbiting (LEO) satellites. Simplex data is transmitted only one-way, from the asset. This form of communication allows costs to remain low and battery life to be extremely long.
