Remote Dynamics Announces New Service for Monitoring Trailers and Other Unpowered Assets
Plano, Texas, February 10th, 2009 – Remote Dynamics, Inc. (OTCBB: RMTD), a leading provider of GPS fleet management solutions for commercial fleets, heavy equipment, and construction assets, today announced their solution for unpowered assets. Customers can now track trailers, cargo containers and other unpowered assets with the same REDIview software they use for their powered equipment.
The Axonn SMARTONE transmits GPS location and other operational data including run-time hours over the Globalstar Simplex Satellite Network of low earth-orbiting (LEO) satellites using only its own internal off-the-shelf field replaceable batteries. Battery life for the SMARTONE is projected to exceed 3 years with 4 Lithium Ion AA batteries. It is expected that this product will be deployed on a variety of mobile assets such as cargo containers, trailers, as well as fixed assets like field equipment, generators, pipelines and fuel storage tanks.
